Dating Delilah

Title: The Plot Twist
Hometown: Seattle, Washington

Dating Delilah

There are moments in life that can be captured, and cared for, and remembered, and written down, and shared in such a way that you feel like they were your own. Feeling is a powerful force. People are motivated by it, depressed by it, drawn to it, repulsed by it. People live by it. Feeling can be manipulated, and twisted. Feeling can be created. People associate so much of their lives with what they felt. Their memories are subject to it. Decisions are made based upon it. Combining right words and melodies in a song can create a feeling, in an instant, that can spur a decision that can change a destiny. Moments like these are what Dating Delilah hope to share, influence and create; the moment when one personal decision, influenced by one feeling, can change the course of countless people’s lives.
The Making of a Man, the band’s debut album, tells an honest story that chronicles a young mans endeavor to cope, in a genuine fashion, with the heartache that has beset him. Some may sneer and call it typical, and they are right. It is typical. But within that story heard so many times in so many different ways there is power. The album is forged with so much feeling and emotion that it creates an aesthetic environment for the listener to live in. Shockingly revealing and audacious songwriting keep the album fresh and give a new take on the age-old typical teenage drama. By cutting away the flowery language, redundant verbiage, and over-the-top imagery, Dating Delilah has written an album that is so real you almost have to laugh to yourself, as you think, “I have felt that way before.” Dating Delilah’s response to that thought is, “you don’t have to feel that way anymore, or ever again. There is more if you just surrender.”
